Idea development
Recap from last post: we got our audience and genre sorted. now, what’s next?
I’d like to take a moment to address the fact that we have now completed shooting and i’m having to make myself suffer by bringing back old memories of the entirety of the process.
I, personally end up in arguments in reference to philosophy and art which, in easier words means that i may often be stubborn about my perspective. having to make a romantic opening was never on my list not because i don’t like romance i have indeed rewatched all of Imtiaz ali’s films but rather because i didn’t have the emotional capacity to direct the actors and have to cast a XY chromosome to act sane hence, i left this task upon Mirab.
The idea came when i was considering conducting research on Afghani refugees and how they had affected our culture. It pains me to see so many people affected by a single leaders decision from the time of Liaquat ali bhutto to Zia ul haq and now, our current leaders… at the end of the day it isn’t the people within mansions and parliament that are affected but their own decisions rather it is the people with herds who rarely have enough food to feed their family once a day, the people in rural areas. Why not address this issue and add an element of romance as escapism for the audience?

I had the perfect location in mind hence, we immediately got a rickshaw from college and visited the lace for a recce. although, there was the danger of wild animals, insects and snakes (trust me, we were SCARED) the location was perfect.

now, about the story, we knew we needed lots of running and poetry and the story we came up with made the perfect mix of all elements.
